The BMW M5 F10 model comes stock with a 4.4 liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine that produces exceptional performance. However, that performance can create unique challenges when attempting to draw out an aftermarket sound that matches its pedigree.
In order to achieve optimum sound Thermal R&D went to work on attacking the drone that would no doubt be prevalent when we opened the diameter to 3” on the inlet of the dual rear mufflers.
An internal Helmholtz chamber was designed in the muffler in order to remove the unpleasant drone frequencies at cruising, while maintaining the aggressive tone at the high-end and through acceleration.
The tailpipes include a set of top of the line exhaust valves to work out the OEM vacuum line and the already robust M Series ECU. The slant cut 3.5” tips fit perfectly in the valance, completing the high-end, upgraded look.
